The Simple Mental Health Breaks I Take Around Cabarrus County
Life can get loud. Whether you are juggling emails, errands, kids, work, or a whole mix of everything, sometimes you need a reset that does not involve a giant to do list. One thing I love about Cabarrus County is how many places offer those small moments of calm. They are not fancy. They are not complicated. They are just the little spots that help you breathe again.
Petting Cats at Mac Tabby Cat Cafe in Concord
If you have never sat in a cozy corner of Mac Tabby with a cup of something warm and a purring cat on your lap, you are missing one of the easiest mood boosters in town. It is playful, it is relaxing, and it is absolutely impossible to stay stressed while a curious cat is headbutting your knee. This is one of my favorite go to places when I need a quick reset.

Walking the Greenways in CabCo
Cabarrus County has several beautiful greenways that are perfect for a mental health walk. Fresh air, quiet paths, and space to clear your head are a lifesaver during busy seasons. Whether you start in Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg or Mount Pleasant, you can find a peaceful trail that makes you forget that your inbox is yelling at you.

Working from Holy Grind in Kannapolis
There is something about being in a space with good energy, great drinks, and friendly people that helps you stay productive. Holy Grind is one of my favorite spots when I need to work outside my office. It is calm enough to focus and upbeat enough to keep you going. Plus, they make amazing drinks that somehow taste like motivation in a cup.

Browsing at Editions Coffee and Bookstore
If you know me, you know I am a bookstore wanderer. I absolutely do not need more books but Editions never fails to pull me in. There is something relaxing about strolling through the shelves, sipping a latte, and giving yourself permission to slow down for a minute. Books plus coffee equals an instant mood lift.

Meeting Friends at 2 Gals Kitchen
A quick lunch at 2 Gals Kitchen usually turns into a three hour catch up session and I am not mad about it. Good food and good company can do wonders for your mindset. It is one of those CabCo staples that makes you feel grounded and connected.

Sitting at Cannon Ballers Stadium
Even when the season is over, Cannon Ballers Stadium has a certain charm. Sometimes I go just to sit, enjoy the view, and take a few minutes away from my phone. You cannot beat a quiet moment with a hot dog and sunshine.

Browsing Marketplace on Main
I tell myself I am just browsing. I am never just browsing. This shop is full of unique finds, home decor, vinyl, seasonal items, and small treasures. Browsing local shops is a simple way to reset your mind and enjoy the creativity of our community.
