Small Business Saturday in Downtown Concord
Small Business Saturday in Downtown Concord
Downtown Concord showed up strong for Small Business Saturday this year. The streets were busy, the music was playing, and everywhere you turned there was another reason to smile. I spent the afternoon stopping into some of my favorite spots and meeting a few new ones along the way.
If you could not make it out this weekend, here is a quick look at what you missed and the places worth adding to your holiday shopping list.
Festive surprises on Union Street
Before I even made it into the shops, I ran into Santa, Mrs Clause, and Goofy. Only in Concord can you be greeted by half the North Pole and a Disney character before your first cup of coffee.

Local merch at The Palmetto Market
My first official stop was The Palmetto Market where I grabbed some Downtown Concord merch. They always have great local themed gifts and small items that are perfect for stocking stuffers.
Supporting a local cause at The Bead Lady
I also swung by The Bead Lady, one of the most loved shops downtown. I picked up my ornament that supports The Open Door House, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing housing and support for young adults who have aged out of foster care. It is one of my favorite traditions each year.

Exploring The District Exchange
If you have not been inside The District Exchange yet, trust me, it is worth it. Thirteen businesses are now open inside the space and there is something for everyone. Most of the footage from my reel ended up coming from inside here because there was so much to see.
Coffee and record browsing at Crane Coffee Company
I grabbed my coffee from Crane Coffee Company, then immediately drifted over to browse the record selection. Coffee with a side of vinyl is always a win.

Onboard Concord
One highlight of the day was finally getting to chat with the owner of Onboard Concord. It is such a fun and unique shop downtown and it was great to see the excitement from shoppers coming through.
Wine finds at First and Flights
Next up was First and Flights, where I checked out their wine selections. If you are shopping downtown this season, this is a great stop to pick up a gift or a bottle for a holiday gathering.
Holiday scents from 12 Hardie Street
My final stop was 12 Hardie Street to stock up on holiday scents. Their seasonal candles never miss and they are perfect for gifting or keeping all to yourself.
Final thoughts
Small Business Saturday was a great reminder of why I love Concord. Our local shops bring charm, creativity, and heart to this community. Even though the official event is over, these businesses are open all season. If you are looking for unique holiday gifts, stop by Downtown Concord and support the people who make it special.
